News 2012-2013

Trails are open however there are still some rocky or wet spots, so use caution while on the trails. The Club has purchased a "New to US" Grooming Sled and Groomer.  Both will be in service soon and should help make the trails better. Hope to see more snowfall soon.

With the lack of Snow we have resorted to bridge and trail work in order to keep busy this season. We have built 3 New Bridges, re decked two and repaired  another two. Beavers have made messes and put two bridges underwater, but thanks to a local trapper, they are no longer a problem. We also made one re route and cleared brush on most of the trails. Now if we just had SNOW!

Well Mother Nature has been cruel to us this year. First she teases us with an October snow storm, and then she kept the snow at bay for most of the season. The only positive result of this was we managed to get some new bridges built as well as repair ones in need of repair either from old age or Irene. We have been lucky with our Landowners allowing us access, and that made a big difference in trucking in bridge materials. We hope to see them at our Annual Landowners Appreciation Pizza Party in May. We thank all our volunteers who pitched in to get things done on the trails and bridges as well as our membership chairman and Treasure for keeping the paperwork and funds flowing. So we now take on the mindset of the Boston Red Sox Fans, and say...just wait until next season!
